Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Legacy File Converter ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Software.

2. License Grant

Upon purchase of a valid license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Install and use the Software on the number of computers permitted by your license
• Use the Software for personal or commercial purposes
• Receive updates to version 6.x of the Software (lifetime access to the 6.x line; current release 6.1.1)

3. Trial Version

The free trial of Legacy File Converter provides full functionality for a limited evaluation of up to 10 file conversions. After the trial limit is reached, you must purchase a license to continue using the Software.

4. Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the Software except as expressly permitted
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
• Rent, lease, or lend the Software to third parties
• Use a single license beyond what your license permits
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the Software for any unlawful purpose

5. Intellectual Property

The Software and all copies thereof are proprietary to us and title remains with us. All rights not specifically granted are reserved. The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

6. Third-Party Components

Legacy File Converter includes third-party components (including LibreOffice and ImageMagick components) under their respective open-source licenses. Your use of those components is subject to their licenses.

7. Payment and Refunds

Payment: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are in USD and are subject to change without notice.

Refund Policy: Refunds are provided at our discretion. If the Software is not working for you, please contact us. This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT EVERY FILE WILL CONVERT WITH PERFECT FIDELITY.

9. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE.

10. Local Data Processing

Legacy File Converter performs all file conversions locally on your computer. We do not have access to your files, and your documents are never uploaded to any server. You are solely responsible for the content of your files and for maintaining appropriate backups before and after conversion.

11. Updates

Your one-time license includes free updates for version 6.x to version 6.x (lifetime access to the 6.x line; current release 6.1.1).

12. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software in your possession.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Software after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
