What LegacyFileConverter does

LegacyFileConverter is a single Windows desktop app that opens an enormous range of legacy and modern file types and converts them to formats you can actually use today. Old word processors become DOCX or PDF, old spreadsheets become XLSX or CSV, presentations become PPTX, and images become JPG, PNG, or PDF. Anything can also be exported to a universal PDF, Markdown, or HTML.

It recognizes each file by its family — and even by its actual contents when the extension is wrong or missing — so you don't have to know what a file is to convert it. It plugs into Windows Explorer for right-click conversion, handles whole folders at once, and can watch a folder to convert new files automatically.

Private by design

Every conversion happens entirely on your computer. There are no uploads, no accounts, and no servers involved — LegacyFileConverter works on a machine with no internet connection at all. For confidential and regulated work, that means your files are never exposed to a third party.
